CITY OF LOS ANGELES LADOT BUS MAINTENANCE & CNG FUELING FACILITY

CLIENT:
CITY OF LOS ANGELES BUREAU OF ENGINEERING

TYPOLOGY:
MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS FACILITY

The proposed LADOT Bus Maintenance & CNG Fueling Facility will serve the Downtown DASH bus fleet. The property is located just south of the 101 freeway and the Gold Line rail overpass. The project will include relinquishment of Hewitt Street and the combining of parcels through a merger/resubdivision and Public Benefit process with the City of Los Angeles.

The proposed two-story Maintenance and Administration Building is approximately 18,800 square feet and is oriented to Commercial Street on the north with large windows into the conference room, training room, and maintenance bays.  This expresses the sustainability of the project by bringing in natural north-facing light into the building.  The building massing also provides both identity and icon to the public where both the 101 Freeway and the Gold Line elevated rails traverse across the north side of the site.
