EL LUCERO

CLIENT:
EAST LA COMMUNITY CORPORATION (ELACC) & BRIDGE HOUSING CORPORATION

TYPOLOGY:
MIXED USE, TOD, AFFORDABLE FAMILY AND PERMANENT SUPPORTIVE HOUSING

The El Lucero project will bring rich, mixed-use pedestrian vitality to the Mariachi Plaza Station.  It will also provide a powerful iconic marker at the bend in First Street, both providing a gateway to the First Street corridor east of Boyle, and a dramatic enclosing backdrop along the full northern edge of Mariachi Plaza.

On the principal, westerly site, El Lucero will consist of 49 affordable family housing units over a podium fully lined by retail/commercial space (7,500 square feet), and residential amenities.  El Lucero will provide the Mariachi Station with quality habitation, vital pedestrian life, an iconic backdrop to the Plaza, and a dramatic gateway to points east.  It will be a project that both serves and expands Metro ridership by expanding the urban fabric in a way that is both vigorous and sensitive to the quality of city we are collaboratively creating.
